The most asked questions
Do you deliver?
We get this question a lot because our pizza is so good. We are a pizza catering company though not a pizza shop that delivers. We will deliver some incredible pizza if you would like to plan an event with us. We will prep and cook at your party.
What kind of parties do you cater?
We get this question a lot too. We bring Blazing Hearth Pizza to Family events like Graduation Parties, 40th Birthday Parties, Block Parties and Tailgates. We also cater more formal events like Wedding Receptions, Rehearsal Dinners and even late night after Wedding Parties. Blazing Hearth Pizza also caters Corporate Outings, Sales Meetings and Crew Lunches or Celebrations.
Where will your truck be parked today for lunch or dinner?
Great question! We are flattered that people want to seek us out for our pizza. We are a catering company though and not a traditional food truck. While we do not set up on the side of the road, we do often sell our pizza at Community Events, Street Fairs and Holiday Strolls.
How much does it cost for Blazing Hearth Pizza to cater my event?
We charge 25 to 32 dollars per person depending on the menu package you choose and the day of the week of your event. In addition, there is a 500 dollar Catering Event service and set up charge to cover the cost of our truck and staff for four hours on-site.
Do I have to pay full price for children?
We don’t count the number of guests at your party. That would not be very friendly. We will prepare and cook the amount of food for the number of persons you plan with us. You should plan Kids under 12 as counted as 2-1. We will bring out (and you will pay for) fewer servings and less food with kids.
Does everyone at my party order their own pizza?
We serve “Pizza Bar” style. We make all the different varieties of pizzas that you have ordered for your party and serve them cut into slices. Your guests can sample as many varieties of pizza they like or just stick to our Say Cheese pizza if they prefer. Guests do not order pizza. We plan the menu with you to accommodate the needs of your guests.
Booking and Pricing
How do I book a party?

How far in advance do I have to book?
We book on a first come, first serve basis and cannot guarantee availability. For peak periods (May through October) we encourage you to book as far in advance as possible.
If the date I want is booked, do you have a waiting list?
Yes. Please call us to discuss. We can also check to see if a party has any flexibility and would like to move dates.
What if I need to cancel?
We require 60 days or more of notice of event cancellation for your deposit to be returned in full. 30 – 60 days before the event, we will return 50% of your deposit. We will return your full deposit if we are able to re-book the event date that you cancelled.
What is your minimum number of people?
We have a minimum charge of 30 people Monday through Thursday and 40 people on Friday through Sunday and Holidays. We will also come out for smaller parties but will still charge for the minimum number of people.
What is your maximum party number?
Our truck is able to service a maximum of 125 people for a standard party of four hours. We are able to accommodate more people if we extend the pizza service. We can add up to 50 more people if we add an hour of service.
When do you need to know our final count?
One week prior to your party so we can buy and prepare the ingredients fresh for your event.
How far do you travel?
We are based in Medfield, Massachusetts, 02052. For parties more than 25 miles beyond 02052, we charge a nominal travel fee to cover staff time and vehicle costs. We will travel up to 2 hours from Medfield. This takes us anywhere in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Southern NH. We can also price out special events that may be further away.
Rain or Snow
What happens if it rains or snows?
Like you we want to do everything we can to have your party happen in rain or snow. We have an awning that extends over our work area to protect the area in front of the oven and a tent to cover the serving area so we will plan to cook pizza unless there are severe weather conditions. If severe weather is in the forecast, we will work with you to plan to either delay your event or reschedule to another day.
Can you bring pizzas inside?
Yes, we can bring pizzas into the house, a tent, lanai or other covered area. We can do this in case of weather or if you would like to hire servers to run food into your party.
Can you pull up to my garage?
We can pull up close to a building or garage, but we cannot pull inside a building because of our Blazing Hearth.
Parking and Set Up
Can you park in the backyard?
We prefer to park and set up in your driveway but if the ground in your backyard is level and firm enough, yes. However, please be aware of the weight of the truck is 25,000 lbs, so we should stay away from septic systems and in ground sprinkler systems.
Can you park on the street in front of my house?
We can park in the street, as long as the road is reasonably level and there is room for our prep tables.
What are the truck dimensions?
Our truck is about 10 feet wide. and 25 feet long. The kitchen prep area extends the passenger side of the vehicle another 10 feet.
Food Allergies and Special Requests:
Do you make gluten free pizzas?
Yes, please make sure to request gluten free pizza crusts for your event. These are separate frozen dough shells we will use to prepare a gluten free pizza. Please be aware though that all our pizzas are cooked in the same wood fired oven. We will handle gluten free pizzas separately with their own plates, pie cutters and serving utensils.
What about cheese (lactose) free pizzas?
Yes. We have lots of other delicious toppings in addition to our cheeses.
PLEASE MAKE SURE TO ALERT US TO ANY GUESTS WITH FOOD ALLERGIES IN YOUR PARTY. WE WANT TO INSURE THE SAFETY OF ALL THOSE AT YOUR EVENT.
Who supplies the plateware and can you bring eco-friendly plates and utensils?
We supply paper plates, cups and utensils. We use sturdy basic white plates, common at pizzerias. We will use yours if you would prefer an alternative. Or we can purchase eco-friendly plateware and utensils for a nominal additional charge.
Before placing your order, please inform your server if a person in your party has a food allergy.
